Item: Zara Tweed Dress
Worn at: Italy Holiday
Original Retail Price: £30
Materials: 93% cotton, 7% polyester
As I mentioned before, I’m a big fan of Zara clothes (I think half of my not cosplay-related wardrobe is from that shop), so I couldn’t really resist this dress, could I?
This dress is a little easier to come by than most of Jenna’s clothes because Zara often produces items in large quantities and because the dress wasn’t very expensive, to begin with, you can get it for a decent price as well. If you look through eBay, Depop and Vinted for a while, I’m sure it will pop up sooner or later. I’ve certainly seen a few of them around.
Sizing and Materials
I ordered mine directly from Zara when the dress was on sale, but all the sizes were gone except for an L. I bought it, knowing that I could send it back if it didn’t fit, but surprisingly, it did. I’m usually a size XS or S in Zara clothes, so I was quite surprised to find it just a little loose. Maybe the sizes don’t differ so much when you go up, maybe this dress is an exception that ran quite small – I can’t honestly say, but I really don’t mind that it’s loose because it’s a summer dress. Sizing up on this one is a possibility if you can’t find it in your regular size. It’s made of 93% cotton and 7% polyester (Thank you, Katie, for helping out a person who cut out the label!)
Zara Dress Qualities
The dress itself is extremely light and ideal for a really, really warm and humid summer day. The fabric will let the air through and it doesn’t stick to your body when it gets really hot and humid, which is a real plus. I’ve already worn it a couple of times to summer family events because I always think it’s a bit too fancy to be considered an office outfit, but I’ve always received compliments for it because it’s such a lovely summer dress.
P.S. The dress was also worn by Lucy Liu on one of my favourite TV shows Elementary where she plays Joan Watson.
If you’re looking for an affordable, unique-looking, Jenna-style summer dress, this would be my recommendation because it’s a lovely item that you can find easily at a decent price and I can promise that you won’t regret the purchase.
