Another new item I coincidentally received on my birthday is the Maison Scotch Blouse Jenna wore to the Flaunt Magazine photo shoot that goes with the Maison Scotch Coat I’ve had for a while and it’s beautiful!
Maison Scotch Embellished Collar Blouse Pricing
One thing you need to know about this item is that it is anything but rare because I’ve seen it pop up around twenty times in recent months – the question is rather one of money. The Jenna Coleman Style Tumblr lists this blouse with an original retail price of £90, so it’s not exactly cheap to begin with. I think the blouse is absolutely gorgeous, but not really something I would wear on a daily basis, so I hesitated to spend a lot of money on it. Most sellers I’ve seen asked around £45 for it and it seems like a fair price for something that was originally expensive, but it was a bit more than I was willing to spend. There were cheaper listings, but those were usually not my size, so I bided my time until a better option came along – and it did about a week ago. I got my blouse for roughly £15. Maison Scotch is a very popular brand, so if you keep looking, I’m very confident that you will find this item if it’s on your list.
Sizing and Care
In terms of sizing, I would say it runs true to size. I’m normally a size S in tops and I got the blouse in a size M which looks fine on me, but it’s quite loose. I don’t really mind in this case because such a blouse is made to be worn tucked into trousers or skirts, so if you can only find the next size up, you will be fine.
The material of which the blouse is made is extremely soft and falls in a lovely manner. Unfortunately, I can’t say what the blouse is made of because I received mine with the label already cut out, but it definitely has a nice feel to it. The embellished collar gives it a shiny, extravagant look and I can imagine that it’s a great blouse to wear to a party or formal event. I had a close look at my collar when I received it because I figured that you might lose the little pearls quite easily, but as far as I can tell, only one or two are actually missing which is good for a second-hand item. They were certainly sewn on well.
I’m quite excited to recreate Jenna’s photoshoot pose now that I finally have the blouse to go with the coat and I think it’s one of my favourite outfits Jenna ever wore to a photo shoot. A real classic!
